Course Description:
Presentation will discuss the biological processes of hand contracture/digital stiffness and will examine relevant evidence and clinical solutions.  The presentation will examine relevant mobilization orthosis selection as well as therapeutic interventions and activity selection to achieve desired clinical results.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will understand the biological processes and phases of digital contracture formation.
  • Participants will develop an understanding of appropriate clinical interventions based on patterns of hand stiffness and underlying causes.
  • Participants will identify appropriate orthoses to assist with the mobilization of the stiff hand.
