Diane Coker, PT, DPT, CHT

Diane received her undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Galveston and her doctoral degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia. She became a certified hand therapist in 1991, and has been director of the hand therapy department at South County Orthopedic Specialists, located in southern California, since 1989. Diane is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the American Society of Hand Therapists, and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. She has been a core lecturer and clinical mentor in the Kaiser Permanente Hand Therapy Fellowship. Diane is an adjunct faculty at Loma Linda University. She has presented numerous times at local, national, and international conferences and seminars.

On the heels of National Volunteer Week (April 18-24), the next episode of Hands in Motion honors the celebration of volunteerism by discussing the many exciting volunteer opportunities available within ASHT, including microvolunteering, division/committee membership and how to be a part of the ASHT leadership. ASHT is almost completely run by volunteer members who dedicate their time to advance the society in areas of advocacy, education, therapist mentoring, research, state and federal regulations, content and more.
