Greetings ASHT Colleagues and Friends!
The ASHT Annual Meeting Committee invites you to join us in celebration of our unique ability as hand therapists, collaborating with other professionals for the benefit of our patients. The 42nd Annual Meeting includes outstanding offerings to enhance the knowledge and skills of clinicians, educators and researchers in our field. It emphasizes the importance of working as a team with our patients and allied healthcare professionals to make a positive impact on the healthcare environment and maximize our patients' functional abilities.
Our meeting will be held October 3-6, 2019 at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, DC, and will deliver four clinically focused days. We begin the meeting Thursday with four exciting hands-on Pre-Conference Institutes and will include topics such as orthotic fabrication (Hands-On Orthotics workshop) and manual therapy for management of painful diagnoses. The meeting will kick off Thursday evening with an opening ceremony, led by Dr. Gregory Bain, Ann Porretto Loehrke, Laurie Rodgers, Jeanine Beasley and Michael Kessler, highlighting the management of joint replacements from the views of therapists and surgeons. Opening night will commence with a reception in the Exhibit Hall bringing you innovative and updated hand therapy products and information.
Both Friday and Saturday are lined up with exceptional therapist speakers, as well as therapist-surgeon speaker teams. Our plenary sessions will include a variety of expert surgeons and therapists sharing their knowledge on current hand therapy topics. The plenary sessions are sure to help boost your skills in achieving outstanding patient outcomes with the shared knowledge of our invited experts. Sunday morning is fully packed with clinically relevant one- or two-hour concurrent sessions to provide you with a variety of educational choices.
We understand the benefits of combining business with a little pleasure, so we encourage you to take the opportunity to explore the capital of the United States. This year, ASHT is offering two ticketed options off-site to network with your hand therapy colleagues and friends!
On behalf of 2018-2019 ASHT President Linda Klein, the 2019 Annual Meeting Committee welcomes you to participate in this year’s Annual Meeting. We are honored to be part of a group of passionate professionals who collaborate with others to achieve the highest standards in hand therapy outcomes!
