As the 2007 Nathalie Barr Award winner, I was thrilled to receive this high acknowledgement of and have the honor to write, present and publish my ASHT Annual Meeting presentation.
Now is the time to show how much you value your fellow members and ASHT supporters by nominating qualified individuals for the following awards:
The Nathalie Barr Lectureship Award is among ASHT’s highest honors, recognizing a member who has made significant original contributions to hand rehabilitation through development or refinement of professional theory and/or technique; contributions to hand therapy development as a profession and to ASHT; or outstanding research.
The Paul Brand Award recognizes individuals who have exemplified humanitarianism in their work as hand therapists in addition to providing clinical and professional excellence in several facets of practice
Lifetime Fellowship status is awarded to individuals in recognition of career-long contributions to ASHT and the field of hand rehabilitation, exemplary leadership and documented achievements in the field. The nomination is open to ASHT members active for a minimum of 15 years or who are founding members.
The Honorary Membership Award recognizes individuals for their long-term professional interest and interaction with ASHT. Recipients have made significant noteworthy advancements to the hand therapy field. The nomination is open to professionals who are not CHTs and/or those not eligible to be members of ASHT.
The Awards Committee reviews nominations and letters of recommendation to determine which candidates meet the award criteria, then scores nominations to identify which candidate will receive the award. Letters of recommendation support the completed application to allow the committee to objectively score nominees.
The deadline to nominate is August 2, 2013. I urge you to submit your nomination as soon as possible. Don’t miss this important opportunity to honor one of your deserving colleagues.
Thank you so much,
Donna Breger Stanton, OTD, OTR/L, CHT, FAOTA
