As part of its Leadership Development Program, ASHT is excited to announce a new LEAD (Leadership Education and Discovery) Forum event!
The LEAD Forum provides ASHT members with an interactive opportunity to discuss leadership development, education and resources, and gain additional confidence and strategies for success in their own professional and personal settings.
On January 30, 2018 at 8 p.m. ET, we will discuss a TED Talk by Simon Sinek entitled “How great leaders inspire action.” In this talk, Sinek discusses his theory about the “Golden Circle” which he believes can inspire cooperation, trust and change.
“People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it”- Simon Sinek
As hand therapists, we don’t think of ourselves as salespeople. Many of us start our practice with little sales background; yet, we spend most of our day marketing! We are selling the exceptional service we provide to patients, managers, referral sources, payors and the community.
We all have a “why.” Improving the quality of life of our patients. Helping our patients return to work or get back to activities they love. Inspiring the next generation of OTs, PTs and hand therapists. But so often we start our sales pitch with the “what,” and don’t share our passion of what we do with the people who need to hear it the most. This discussion will teach us how to communicate starting with our “why.” When we start with our why, the what, how and when will come naturally.
This discussion is for leaders of all levels – from clinicians hoping to take on leadership roles to current managers and department heads. Dial in (in your favorite pajamas and with your favorite night beverage!) with the current and future leaders of ASHT to learn how to become the most inspiring leader you can be!
Please join us at 8 p.m. ET January 30, 2018 as we continue this leadership development adventure together! We look forward to a lively conversation. Registration is required, but this program is free to members. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with connection information. Log on at the time of the event, and participate in an engaging discussion group with your peers!
