Hi Colleagues!
Hand Therapy Week is almost here. Celebrating is a great way to reinvigorate your daily routine and raise awareness of hand therapy!
What to do for Hand Therapy Week? The ASHT website is a great resource for flyers, ideas, contests, marketing materials and much more. It’s worth checking out so you don’t feel that you have to “reinvent the wheel.” You can keep it very simple or really spend some time and energy making the week special.
This year, ASHT has developed three flyers to promote the hand therapy specialty -- one intended for hand surgeons, one for primary care physicians and a generic flyer. We've left space on the flyers for you to add contact information for your practice.
To celebrate Hand Therapy Week 2013, I am sending nifty gift baskets to my referral sources. The baskets will include a flyer from the ASHT website, a variety of gloves (gardening, dishwashing, latex, bike) a small bottle of hand sanitizer, a small tube of hand cream, a nail file and some treats. I am also going to kick off the week with balloons at our front desk with hands on them to draw attention to the event. We’ll also have a basket of hand-related ‘prizes’ for each patient at the front desk. This weekend, I got my kids to make hand cutouts in an array of colors to decorate the clinic. It took a little bribery to put them to work, but the results are worth it!
Please share your ideas and celebration plans in the comment section below, on the ASHT Facebook page and on Twitter using #HTW2013.
